“Hello, Love, Again” to Close Asian World Film Festival

The much-awaited Filipino sequel Hello, Love, Again, starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, has been chosen as the closing film for this year’s Asian World Film Festival (AWFF).

The festival, which aims to “celebrate exceptional Asian filmmakers and strengthen cultural ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries,” will take place in Los Angeles, California, from November 13 to 20.

AWFF organizers revealed that the event will kick off on November 13 with the South Korean drama A Normal Family, while Hello, Love, Again will be featured on the closing night, November 20.

In addition to Hello, Love, Again, the AWFF lineup includes a diverse array of critically acclaimed films from nearly 50 Asian countries. These include In the Mood for Love from Hong Kong, The Wrestler from Bangladesh, Meeting with Pol Pot from Cambodia, The Antique from Georgia, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In from Hong Kong, and Lost Ladies from India, among others.

Filipino fans can look forward to the local release of Hello, Love, Again in theaters nationwide on November 13, the same day as the festival’s opening in Los Angeles.

Hello, Love, Again is the sequel to the 2019 box-office hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, which captivated audiences with its story of two overseas Filipino workers, Joy and Ethan (played by Kathryn and Alden, affectionately known as KathDen), who meet and fall in love in Hong Kong.

The new installment will follow Joy and Ethan’s journey five years after Joy leaves Hong Kong to pursue her dreams in Canada.
